Insulated or Non-Insulated?
Many models will come in various insulation types. Let’s first decide what insulation type works best for your needs and then pick a style!
Non-insulated
The non-insulated door is our most economical structure, with one layer of steel and a hollow back. While it may look the same from the outside as other types, this door does not provide temperature control.
Polystyrene Vinyl Back Insulated
This door is our mid-grade insulated door. It has 2 layers, the front layer of steel, and a thick, high quality layer of insulation on the interior with a vinyl backing. This door will provide some insulation and slightly more durability than the non-insulated door.
Polystyrene Steel Back Insulated (Best Seller!)
The 3 layer, insulated door is our best seller and our top pick! This door has a layer of steel on the front, solid, high-quality insulation on the interior, and another layer of steel on the back side for tremendous strength and prevention of basic wear and tear to the back of the door. This door is more than enough insulation for most home types!
Polyurethane Steel Back Insulated (Highest Insulation!)
Looking to go above and beyond on insulation? This door will have the highest insulation factor of all the insulation types. This door may be the perfect choice if you have converted the garage into a room, you spend a lot of time in the garage during the cold months, or you have temperature sensitive materials stored in the garage. This door may also help to cut energy costs in the cold and hot months. Please note: for this door to make a difference, the garage itself will need to be well insulated and sealed as well.
